Peony ‘Lois’ Choice’ (Laning, 1993)
A peony that looks almost hand-painted.
‘Lois’ Choice’ is an intersectional hybrid known for its fascinating color shifts within a single bloom. The fully double flowers open creamy yellow, then blend into soft pink, peach, and deeper rose tones toward the center. Each flower shows slightly different proportions of these colors, giving the plant a layered, painterly quality that stands out immediately in the garden.
Introduced by Chris Laning in 1993, this hybrid combines the strong stems and durable foliage typical of intersectional peonies with unusually complex coloration. The large blooms are carried well above the foliage, making them useful both in the garden and for cutting.
Plants grow to about 30″ tall and produce full, fluffy blooms that hold their form nicely.
Unexpected color. Remarkable variation.
