By selecting Early Shipping, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with receiving dahlia tubers before your area's last expected frost date.
Early Shipping is offered at the customer's request and at the customer's own risk. Dahlia tubers are sensitive to freezing temperatures, and shipping or receiving them before your area's last frost date may expose them to conditions that could cause damage or loss.
A Few Important Details:

Limited Availability: Early Shipping is available in limited quantities and may sell out.

World Series Exclusion: World Series dahlias are not eligible for Early Shipping.

Split Shipments: If your order contains both eligible tubers and World Series dahlias, your eligible tubers will ship early, while World Series varieties will ship separately during their scheduled March 15–31 shipping window.
Please understand:

Customers are responsible for knowing their local climate, frost dates, and appropriate planting and storage conditions.

Early Shipping does not guarantee that outdoor planting conditions are suitable.

Customers are responsible for protecting and properly storing tubers until conditions are safe for planting.

Damage or loss resulting from freezing temperatures, improper storage, or planting before safe conditions may not be covered under Fuirk Home's tuber guarantee or replacement policy.

Fuirk Home reserves the right to delay shipment when weather conditions pose a significant risk to tuber health.
By purchasing Early Shipping, you acknowledge these risks and agree that weather-related damage or loss associated with early shipment may be excluded from our standard guarantee, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Dahlia tubers begin shipping in April 2027, with shipments continuing through May, unless Early Shipping is selected at checkout.

For gardeners who want a head start, we offer a limited Early Shipping option. Please note that dahlias from our World Series Collection are excluded from Early Shipping and will ship during our regular April–May window.

If you have feedback or concerns, please reach out to us directly so we can resolve the issue promptly and fairly. We’re here to help, and we take pride in finding solutions that work.
That said, we reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or void guarantees if a customer engages in disrespectful behavior. Over the years, we’ve seen too many growers face devastating challenges because of impatient or unfair actions, like airing complaints publicly on social media before giving the business a chance to address them.
Here’s the deal: If customer service matters are taken public before we’ve had a chance to help, we may choose to walk away and void guarantees. Likewise, if we see posts that are intentionally damaging or rude behavior toward other growers in the community, we reserve the right to decline your orders altogether.

Grow & Care
Dahlias are tender perennials, vigorous and fast growing. Dahlia tubers must be lifted for the winter from the ground in zones 7 and lower.
Planting:
Dahlias require soil that drains freely. Clay soil should be amended. Planting in raised beds can help alleviate moisture concerns. Tuber loss due to moisture rot is the leading cause for plant loss.
Plant 6" deep. Dig hole at least twice the width of your tuber to reduce soil compaction.
Label and stake your Dahlia at planting. Tubers do not need to be watered unless you are dealing with especially dry conditions. Whatever Mother Nature provides will be enough.
Care:
When Dahlias reach 10-12", the center tip should be pinched. This will create a bushier plan and yield more blooms. Without pinching, the plant will grow one tall, thick central stalk.
Your Dahlias will bloom from mid-summer until frost. Keep spent blooms trimmed and you'll enjoy repeat blooms all season long.
