Peony ‘Candy Stripe’ (Lactiflora, 1992)
A peony that looks almost hand-painted.
‘Candy Stripe’ produces large, fully double blooms in creamy white splashed with bold crimson-red streaks. Each flower shows its own unique striping pattern, giving the plant a lively, painterly appearance in the garden. The fluffy blooms are fragrant and open into full, layered flowers that stand out clearly against the deep green foliage.
Compact plants reach about 60 cm (24″) tall and bloom in late spring to early summer. Side buds increase productivity and extend the bloom window, making this variety useful both in the garden and for cutting.
Bold pattern. Reliable performance.

Lactiflora peonies — often called Chinese or garden peonies — are among the most widely grown peonies in the world. Native to China, Japan, and Korea, they have been cultivated for centuries for their large, fragrant flowers.
Introduced to Europe in the late 1700s and to North America in the 1800s, lactiflora peonies remain the backbone of many garden and cut-flower plantings thanks to their reliability, fragrance, and abundant blooms.
