Veronica 'Skyler' White Improved
If you're looking for a low-maintenance, long-flowering perennial that shines in both gardens and vases, Veronica 'Skyler' is your go-to.
Appearance:
With its bright green foliage and tall, elegant spikes of flowers, Veronica 'Skyler' is a stunner. The blooms come in a range of white, pink, or blue, with spikes stretching 5-8" long—perfect for adding height, drama, and texture to floral arrangements. These “spike type” flowers are a favorite for cut flower lovers, delivering beauty and versatility to any bouquet.
Growing Tips:
When shopping for Veronica, check the plant tag to ensure you're selecting a tall variety—18–24 inches is ideal for both garden presence and cutting potential. 'Skyler' thrives in well-drained soil and blooms beautifully in late spring to early summer.
Pro Tip:
To keep the show going, deadhead or cut back your plants to about 6–8 inches after the first flush of blooms. This encourages a second, gorgeous wave of flowers in late summer. With its easy care and reliable reblooming, Veronica 'Skyler' is a hardworking addition to any perennial garden.
Notes from Farmer Bailey: The Skyler series does not need a cold winter period, unlike other Veronica longifolia cultivars. It will flower the first year from planting. Cut to the ground, and it will generally send out an additional flush of flowers. Depending on location you may harvest 2-4 flushes of flowers per year. It is fully hardy. In its second and third years, you will see many more stems emerge as the plant spreads.
